City of Issaquah launches Enterprise-Wide Solution

January 11, 2011

The City of Issaquah has completed the launch of TRAKiT Enterprise software from CRW Systems of San Diego. In November 2010, the City went live with PermitTRAK, ProjectTRAK, LandTRAK, AEC TRAK, MobileTRAK and GIS Server modules. Currently, the City is utilizing TRAKiT across multiple departments to manage their full-service community development processes. The system includes live integration with the eCityGov Alliance web portal MyBuildingPermit.com that also serves many other cities in the greater Seattle area.

With the use of a new web service created by CRW, contractors and citizens can now apply for permit applications online through the common web portal. Inspection requests and viewing record information is also available.
The City of Issaquah joins a growing list of local agencies that have been using CRW’s TRAKiT solution to provide streamlined customer services. Among the City’s reasons for choosing TRAKiT were its affordable cost, user-friendly interface, well organized features as well as CRW’s commitment to customer service. “The support has been great!” said Sandy Wirth, Permit & Licensing Supervisor for the City.

“We are excited to be part of the eCityGov project, and we applaud Issaquah’s forward-looking vision to provide cutting edge automation to improve customer service” said Christopher Wuerz, President of CRW Systems.

The City is also leveraging the TRAKiT GIS server interface to obtain land records information from their GIS Server to create permits and inspections directly from the online map. “We are very excited about the GIS integration and know it’s highly utilized by our planning staff” says Wirth.

The MobileTRAK module allows inspectors in the field to maintain live communication with the office at all-time using their laptops or PDA devices. Inspection results are now posted to the database in real-time, and contractors can be notified immediately when updates have taken place.

Overall the project was a huge success from implementation to Go-Live. As Wirth states, “The entire CRW staff really helped make a complicated process a lot easier and the City is very happy with our selection”.
