Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry Selects CRW

April 29, 2009

CRW Systems, Inc. has been awarded a project by the State of Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) to provide a comprehensive software package for the Construction Codes and Licensing Division. The Construction Codes and Licensing Division (CCLD) is composed of the Department of Administration's Building Codes and Standards Division, the Department of Health's Plumbing and Engineering Unit, the Board of Electricity and the Department of Commerce's Residential Contractors' Licensing Unit, as well as the boiler and high-pressure-piping groups.

The CCLD provides for regulation of construction-related health and safety codes and licensing laws in new and existing structures, and provides education and consultative services to the construction industry. It promulgates and administers the accessibility, boiler, building, building conservation, electrical, elevator, energy, high-pressure piping, manufactured structures, plumbing and residential codes. Additionally, it licenses boats for hire, boiler operators, electricians, electrical and technology system contractors, elevator constructors, high-pressure piping pipefitters, manufactured home installers, plumbers, power limited technicians, residential building contractors, remodelers, roofers, and certifies building officials. CRW's TRAKiT software suite will provide functionality to integrate the operations for plan review, permitting, inspections and enforcement activities for building codes, manufactured structures, plumbing, electrical, elevators, boilers, high pressure piping and boats for hire throughout the State.

CRW will provide implementation, training, data conversion, and technical support for this project as well as on-going software support and maintenance. The software is expected to be in full production by mid-2010.

"We're pleased that the State has selected CRW to fulfill their needs for the Construction Codes and Licensing Division, and we are eager to work with everyone in the State," said Christopher Wuerz, CRW President and Founder.

CRW recently completed a similar implementation for the State of Idaho's Division of Building Safety. The Idaho Division of Building Safety went live with the TRAKiT software suite in February 2009.
