TRAKiT makes work quicker and easier in Salinas

Before TRAKiT, issuing permits in Salinas, CA was “cumbersome,” according to Kristy Parker, Salinas Building Permit Specialist. The City had been working with a database developed in the mid 1980’s. But, on February 16, 2007, the City went live with CRW’s TRAKiT software and revolutionized the way they do business.
“Issuing permits now is a lot quicker and easier,” said Parker. She attributes the improvements to easy navigation and data integration between TRAKiT applications. “We can see everything on one screen and link to different areas of the program,” said Parker.
Salinas implemented PermitTRAK, ProjectTRAK, and CodeTRAK in February with the help of Celine Chun, CRW Project Manager, and Scott Talbert, CRW Director of Client Services. With continued guidance from CRW, Salinas is now expanding their TRAKiT system to include MobileTRAK—to allow inspectors to access data while in the field—and eTRAKiT—to offer up-to-date information to citizens through the the City’s Web site.
